Ten 12-13 mag stars and 10 fainter stars against a bg sheen of very faint members at 130x.  Looks dense with AV. Slightly irregular shape. At 235, bg brightens and becomes very dense, with stars just beyond resolution. Nice cluster, though faint.

Round with hazy edges at 130x, with no detail in center. At  235x, shape becomes more irregular, especially near center where hint of dark gap appears in brighter core. Outer areas diffuse & dimmer.

At 73x, fairly dense grouping of 13 mag stars (N=50+); ring arrangement with hole in center. Gap more pronounced at 130x as more stars in ring resolved (N=65+). Fills 14mm (168x) wide field; gap in ring to E. Most stars are white.

Dense grouping of several dozen brighter (12 mag) stars, with hazy-granular bg. At 235x, members seem to have a wide magnitude range. 100+ 14-mag or brighter stars with still more beyond resolution.

At 73x, twenty 12-mag stars in losse grouping with powdery bg -- esp at center. At 130x, central portion becomes more granular with 14-15 resolved stars. Not much more at 235x.

Small, very dense cloud of very dim (13+ mag) stars at 73x. At 90x brightest concentration is in a line of several dozen stars on W side of this irregular grouping. Becomes blurry at 130x at this seeing low in S..

30-35 brighter members in loose grouping at 73x. 20-25 additional faint members at 130x, including 10-12 in an elongated bridge between two 11 mag stars on E side of cluster.

Large, fairly loose grouping of 80-85 stars at 130x, just NW of star 19 Puppis. 235x shows that entire field is filled with faint stars just beyond resolution.

M-48. 100+ 12-mag stars in large, roughly round grouping at 73x (fills ep). Distinctive cascade of 15-16 bright stars in center.  At 130x, bg is granular, with hundreds of unresolved stars in background.

At 73x, 20 equally-bright 12-13 mag stars arranged in 4 zig-zag lines. At 130x, the longest line (3rd from W) has 8-10 members in a long wavy string. 235x shows 15-20 fainter members (~14 mag) salted through cluster between lines.

At 73x, edge-on (E-W) with sharp division on S edge. At 130x, fairly smooth with no pronounced central brightening. Sharp S edge more pronounced; ends trail off to slender points at either side of core area.

At 130x, bright stellar core, compact round halo. At 168x, stellar point at center, with surrounding core region fading out to halo, which becomes more elongated at higher power (as margins become more distinct.) Dark area in core to NE of center.

130 Small, bright, stellar center at 130x. At 235x, bright core area with stellar point at center. Very dim, round halo surrounding; only sections of this glimpsed with AV. Two faint stars to W just beyond halo.
