mag star to E & a cluster of very faint stars on N end of halo.
Arrow-like shape, N end pointed, S end broader & brighter at 168x. S

halo. At 130x, center of halo shows cloud-like mottling & stellar

bright clumps, especially well-defined toward field star. |

Visible in finder as a hazy patch to W of
two 7-8 mag stars. At 73x, the "spindle galaxy" does look like that.
Stellar center, bright elongated core and halo fading out to points at
each end. View in 14mm (168x) superior to photos. Central bright
streak at core, with some dark lanes causing gaps in mottling. Halo is
very curdled, aligned NE-SW. 13 mag star just to S. |
