OIII
Irregular, nebulous knot around an apparent 12 mag star. Edges somewhat ragged. Surprisingly bright for this transp. O-III shows larger nebulous area, but too dim for detail. At 235x a tiny cluster of 3-4 faint stars seems to occupy center; neb. extends out in short wisps, almost like a galaxy. AV shows large hazy blob.

Nebulous haze surrounding brighter component of 9 mag double star. At 130x haze is more extended. At 235x some mottling is evident.

At 73x very small, circular, bright & greenish. At 235x a slightly dimmer hole apparent in center (curved dark lane). Looks oblong at times though circular with AV.

130 Flame Nebula. At 130x, extended curved whorls of nebulosity with dark patch in center, just NE of Zeta. Extends NW and NE and to 8 mag star to SE. Dark patch bounded on E by a bright curve of nebulosity. Very fine filaments throughout.

10-12 brighter (10-11 mag) stars near 6 mag foreground star, which blocks out fainter members. Main cluster is a dense ball, just glimpsed at 130x with AV. At 235x this ball has some brighter central stars, with several dozen members just resolved.

Small at 130x, with 6-7 brighter members (11-12 mag) with granular bg and some barely resolved faint members. At 235, brighter stars arranged in two distinct clumps, with a hazy bridge of faint members between. Some more faint stars to N of W clump.

At 73x, 5-6 dim stars (12 mag) with powdery bg. Fifty+ stars resolved with AV. At 130x, cluster is dense & fills center of field. Several dozen brighter members with a haze of 100+ more in bg. Higher power doesn't help.

60x Huge cluster with 20+ bright stars in center with 100+ fainter members. Nebulosity (not seen by Herschel) is thick ring around cluster; brighter to NW & W. At this viewing, knots of nebulosity completely surround cluster.
