Sallyanne C. Johnson, MA - Psychotherapist

Sallyanne's specialty is working with adults and older adolescents suffering from sexual and emotional abuse and other forms of trauma. She also has experience teaching communication skills to couples.

Other areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, self-esteem and life adjustment issues.

Sallyanne uses a cognitive-behavioral approach, together with various techniques drawn from Gestalt, solution-focused therapy and Ericksonian psychotherapy. She is specifically trained to use the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (E.M.D.R.) method which accelerates the treatment in a wide range of presenting complaints and self-esteem issues related to both upsetting past events and present life conditions.

She has a Master's Degree in counseling from the University of Colorado at Denver. For the past three years she has been practicing psychotherapy in a community mental health setting and at the Valley Sexual Abuse Center.

Sallyanne offers a sliding fee scale based on ability to pay, and will see clients in the evening.

A Client's Comment:

"What I like best about Sallyanne is the way she brings her human side with her to the sessions. It makes it easier to open up and be vulnerable. She's not afraid to share her own experiences about life."
